Alpinestars Supertech R Boot Racing boots have an entirely different set of hazards than motocross or street boots. There is, of course, an obvious necessity for all of them to resist abrasion, impact, and heat, but applying the right tool for the right job can give you an advantage on the track. Alpinestars Supertech R sport performance boots try to give you that edge you need to run a little hotter and pull a little farther.

Microfiber construction TPU panels and plates offer protection from impact and abrasion, but maintain the lightweight structure that is so necessary in a racing boot. Designed to be aerodynamic, the Supertech does let in air through forward perforations to help you keep your cool.

Ratchet top closure, internal Velcro, and contoured architecture create a close fit. TPU mesh is strategically placed in the front and around the achilles area to allow you to move naturally without the boot rubbing or sliding.

The ability to feel the pegs and the push on the side of the the bike is vital in racing. Too much protection can hinder your feedback. Alpinestars attempts to provide this tactile sensation by constructing the sole of a lightweight, flexible rubber compound. The inner side panels are suede leather which, in addition to letting the rider feel the grip, provide protection from heat.

There is a dark side to softening the sole and sides: they will show wear. Designed with top-racing specs in mind, Alpinestars' Supertech boots will give you some of the best light and strong protection that $450 can buy, but they may not last as long as their over-protected brethren.

Try these boots with the Icon white leather Accelerant jacket.
