It has rained every day, save one, for the last couple weeks. I love my oiled leather, but it can't take this much, so out comes the rain gear and luggage covers. You can save yourself a few minutes with waterproof luggage, like these PVC bags.
Bikeaccess' T Bar bags are constructed of PVC-450 and are 100 percent waterproof. You read the specs on these bags and you'd think they were just what you've been looking for all your life (if you don't want leather).
These bags provide a universal fit for any bike with a sissy bar, and, I kid you not, they can be use as a rucksack if you don't own a bike. This combination of two bags includes a larger, lower bag that is 21.25 inches long, 10.25 inches wide, and 11.5 inches high. The upper bag is a little shorter, at 7.25 inches high.
The PVC won't crack, blister, or discolor with heat. The bags will keep their shape and, supposedly, look and feel like leather. On sale just about everywhere they are sold, you can get these for under $100.
So, what's the catch? They are kind of hideous. I'm not entirely superficial, but these look like a cartoonish representation of motorcycle luggage rather than the real thing. The low price and lifetime warranty, however, do make these a temptation for those of us with thin wallets, and I'm sure you can dress them up a bit.
And you can add these Jafrum saddlebags to go with the set.
