Have you no shame? Did you even think about her frail, bony fingers pushing the needle through that tough fabric, almost to the point of them bleeding, just so you could jump into a pile of manure? She would be turning over in her grave if she saw this right now. Get to your room!"

"But Ma! How am I supposed to ride in the fields without gettin' my jacket dirty?"

If only little Steven knew about the Fox Racing MX Fluid Men's Dirt Bike Motorcycle Jacket. It's made out of 100% PVC and is designed to wear over your protective motocross jacket. This thing can repel pretty much anything that would typically stain or cause unpleasantness to your pristine protector. Though the Fluid jacket is pretty tough, it's definitely not going to handle a spill without tearing, but it's not too expensive so I wouldn't cry about it too much. Unlike a two dollar poncho, though, this thing fits well and doesn't get in the way of riding at all. You won't even know that it's on, except for the fact that if you're really riding hard it can act as a sauna and get you sweating a little more than you would normally be while riding. It's available in sizes X-Small to 2 X-Large.

Kidney Belt by Fox Racing | Motorcycle Off Road MX Armor Torso Protector http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/kidney-belt-by-fox-racing-motorcycle-off-road-mx-armor-torso-protector/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/kidney-belt-by-fox-racing-motorcycle-off-road-mx-armor-torso-protector/#comments Mon, 25 Apr 2011 20:58:22 +0000 Andy http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=6918 Kidney Belt by Fox Racing During the short time that I was enrolled in a kung-fu class, mastering the arts of Shaolin Kempo, one of the things that I remember to this day is how painful a punch to the kidney can be. There are some times when riding dirt bikes or an ATV that you can cause yourself some serious pain, too, when you get thrown off and land hard on your side. Wearing a full suit of armor isn't really a practical way to protect yourself, but having a few protective garments that are made from advanced technology is.

The Fox Racing Off-Road Kidney Belt is designed to fit adults in all sizes. It's secured by a three-strap system that ensures a snug, protective fit. Its anatomical, flexible torso panels move in unison to mimic natural body movements and minimizes any resistance other belts may give. The rubber back support is contoured and strategically hinged to wrap around your midsection as the channeled, molded internal Biofoam circulates air around your lower back so it doesn't get super hot and sweaty. It might feel a little awkward riding with a belt at first, but you'll be glad you did when you hit that ditch you didn't see and fly kidney-first into a rock.

It seems another year has gone past, and with that, another wallet has been lost. You probably lost it while you were in the conga line at that last party you went to. You'd think that someone would have invented a way for you to locate that little holder-of-things by now. Maybe put a chip in it like you do your pets, and when you lose it you can just hook up your smart phone and locate it with GPS. Well, if you're like me, that wouldn't matter anyways because all that was in mine was a couple of moths and an old breath mint, so actually it was time for a new one anyways.

I've always enjoyed sports bikes, and what better way to show my appreciation for the whole motorcycle racing industry than walking around with the Fox Racing Leather Tri-fold Wallet in my rear pocket? It's made out of top-drawer leather (none of that second- or third-drawer stuff, mind you) and has all the usual suspects (ID holder, cash pocket, credit card slots). The Fox Head logo is cast chrome and recessed so it doesn't catch on your pockets when you're trying to pull it out to pay that tab. It's available in black, brown, and white. With any luck, money will want to stay in this wallet, too.

Fox MX Racing Latinese V3 | Men’s Motocross Carbon Fiber Helmet http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-mx-racing-latinese-v3-mens-motocross-carbon-fiber-helmet/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-mx-racing-latinese-v3-mens-motocross-carbon-fiber-helmet/#comments Thu, 11 Feb 2010 23:18:27 +0000 Tim http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=4961 Fox MX Racing Latinese V3 Let's start with the technical features of the Fox Racing V3 Latinese motocross helmet. Most importantly, it is Snell and DOT certified. The shell is constructed of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass. These are the premium materials for modern helmet construction. Fox Racing knows dirt -- and dirt gets equipment… well… dirty. The liner is fully removable and washable, which is a necessity in a quality dirt helmet. The mouthpiece is removable and cleanable for the same reason.

The helmet also features a super-wide eye port for a full range of peripheral vision. The d-rings are titanium, and the ear cavities accommodate modern communication systems.

Now let's take a look at the "Latinese" graphics. Fox says that the style was inspired by Japanese and Latin American artistic influences. Dragons, roses, wings, and various other images coexist on the helmet. Interesting mix, but it works. I find the helmet to be artistic, rather than randomly gaudy like so many other MX helmet styles.

This helmet is a winner. It is a great symbiosis of advanced technical features and appealing style. At this price, this blend does not come cheap. However, for a quality dirt helmet that actually has artistic graphics, it seems worth it.

Mens Fox Racing Gloves w/ Silicone Grip | MX Gear, Clarino Neoprene Dirtpaw http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-dirtpaw-gloves-mens-dirt-bike-mx-vented-clarino/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-dirtpaw-gloves-mens-dirt-bike-mx-vented-clarino/#comments Thu, 12 Nov 2009 20:52:26 +0000 Ila http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=4448 Fox Racing Dirtpaw Gloves People buy Fox Racing products based on the name, because the name is known for quality. Fox's Dirtpaw glove, which is updated constantly so make sure you're looking at the 2009 model, is their low-end beat-me-up glove.

Constructed of tough vented synthetics, the Dirtpaw won't let sweat disturb your hold. The palm is padded Clarino synthetic leather that eats up vibration while the silicone dots on the fingertips provide a natural feeling, no-slip grip.

What gives these gloves a truly unique look for their class is the neoprene and PVC rubber adorning the chassis. Positioned to protect your hands from impact on the fingers and knuckles, these pads also create a daunting design. The dots on the fingers of the black and white gloves remind me of little skulls and crossbones.

These may look like higher-end gloves, but if you are a hard rider who is going to be putting a lot of abuse on your equipment, buy a step up from the Dirtpaw. These will wear well for medium or light riding and be great for street use, but heavy use will wear these right out in a few months.

Dirtpaws are well favored among those to ride bicycles as well as those who prefer their motorized cousins. This is due to their light construction, long life in light riding, and the fact that they're only $20. The Dirtpaw gloves are available in black, white, blue, red, and yellow.

Fox Racing Mens Motocross Pinstripe Pants | Black Leather MX 180 34 http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-180-motocross-pants-black-pinstripe-34/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-180-motocross-pants-black-pinstripe-34/#comments Sat, 29 Aug 2009 22:04:03 +0000 Ila http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=1882 Fox 180 Motocross Pants I don't care what your opinion is about personal protection gear for the daily ride, but riding motocross is different. You're going to lose some skin when you're not wearing the right apparel. Never going down means you're not trying hard enough. It's an expected (and nearly required) hazard of the sport.

Some folks like flashy gear, but you can't go wrong with black on white. The Fox 180 motocross pants are very similar to their Honda 180 gear. If you wanted those pants but are not a Honda rider, these will have everything you need with only the Fox logo on the leg.

A pre-curved race construction won't give any resistance when you're in position, and stretch panels in the back, knees, and crotch will let you move without hassle. Leather patches protect the rider from the heat and abrasion. You probably don't think a little rain should take you off the track, and neither does Fox. So they've made the 180 pants water-repellent.

I could do without the pinstripe pattern; pinstripes only look good on roaring 20's gangsters. Fortunately, the pinstripe is not pronounced, and the full design of the 180 -- with prominent double-needle stitch lines and white accents -- make up for any aesthetic drawback. If you just can't stand the stripes, the 180 comes with seven color and pattern options.

Fox Racing Knee Brace Armor | Motocross Gear Black PODMX http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-podmx-knee-brace-black/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-podmx-knee-brace-black/#comments Thu, 27 Aug 2009 20:02:23 +0000 Nick http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=1321 Fox Racing PODMX Knee Brace BlackI'll start this off by saying I am not a doctor and I don't even play one on TV. If you have a serious injury and you are looking at a motorcycle product review website for advice before talking to your doctor, then you ought to have your head checked as well when you do finally make it in to see the doc. Now that that's out of the way, here we go:

The sport of motocross is a brutal one that constantly tests the limits of man and machine. Few body parts take more of a beating when pounding through the whoops or casing a big triple than your knees. Because of that, taking care of your legs' pivot point is a wise investment.

Fox's PODMX knee brace goes far above and beyond knee cups or knee guards, which basically only protect your kneecap in the event of a fall. These babies are intended to help prevent serious injury in the event of a crash as well as provide support for knees that have been injured in the past. Fox's polymer hinge system has a stopping mechanism that prevents the knee from hyper extending. In addition, the dual-layer carbon fiber composite frame provides mega support in both medial (side-to-side) and lateral (front-to-back) movement. One final safety feature is the patella guard. It is a floating model attached to the frame, which basically means if you bang your knee, the impact will be absorbed by the frame of the brace rather than your leg. That's a good thing.

Besides safety, the other big thing to consider when shopping for a brace is comfort. Fox has attempted to make this brace as low profile as possible so it is not too obtrusive under your gear. It also features thermo-formed pressure point padding and a removable vented foam liner.

This brace is high quality and is definitely a step in the right direction for anyone interested in preventing a knee injury. If you have bad knees already or are recovering from an injury, make sure to talk to a real doctor before using it.

Shift Assault Mens Off Road MX Pant | Fox Racing http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/shift-assault-mens-off-road-mx-pant-fox-racing/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/shift-assault-mens-off-road-mx-pant-fox-racing/#comments Thu, 27 Aug 2009 03:04:50 +0000 Brad http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=1870 Shift Assault Mens Off Road Pant If you've been into off-road motorcycles (or BMX, or surfing, or mountain biking) for five minutes, then you've heard of Fox Racing. Like the cartoon character Savoir Faire, they are everywhere. And they make some bang-up gear that you can take out and bang up all the live-long day.

Shift is Fox's budget brand -- gear for growing families and anyone looking to save a little money, usually about half the cost of Fox's regular line-up, with some exceptions. But Shift also goes after cutting-edge designs to capture the substantial youth market in off-road clothing and protective equipment.

The Assault pant fits into the budget and youth market. It comes in six different color and pattern variations. Constructed from 600 denier polyester, it's made to withstand abrasion and has stretch panels at every human intersection to allow for flexibility and comfort. Logos on the yoke, thigh, and knee made of TPR (thermoplastic rubber) will hold up well and generally resist staining. The waist has a generously adjustable ratchet-style closure for a custom, personal fit. All the stuff you expect from an off-road pant is in place.

One notable complaint about this pant is that some say the seams tend to come apart. As this pant is limited to sizes 28-38, and they reportedly run small, the correct fit may be a factor. Try these on first, if at all possible. Otherwise, these are a good deal for something you mean to abuse.

These gloves will add the right amount of protection and style to go with your new Shift Assault pants.

Fox Racing Honda 180 | Red Pinstripe Motocross Pants 34 http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-honda-180-motocross-pants-red-34/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-racing-honda-180-motocross-pants-red-34/#comments Tue, 28 Jul 2009 23:30:48 +0000 Ila http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=1166 Fox Racing Honda 180 Motocross PantsMotocross may bear the seeds of reckless adventure, but the speeds and heights achieved by the fearless riders force them to confront their very real vulnerabilities and put on gear to compensate. Fox Racing is an ever-present name on the lips of the motocross community when it comes to riding apparel. Their logo is among the most recognized symbols and is worn by riders and fans alike.

Fox Racing and Honda have engineered the 180 motocross pants with stretch panels everywhere that the body needs to move. The neutral-state architecture is designed for a comfortable riding position. Since nothing can do the job like leather, they've included patches for heat and abrasion resistance, and these pants are mostly synthetic so the rider doesn't overheat. They are also both breathable and water-repellent.

Aesthetically, the 180 pants leave something to be desired. They have a strong red-on-black contrast, but the pinstripes are reminiscent of a baseball uniform. Don't let minor fashion faults dissuade you from getting a durable, well-made pair of riding pants, though. Comfort and protection should negate all superficial concerns. The Honda logo will let you proudly proclaim your allegiance to your bike, and at under $100 they're not going to leave you with buyers' remorse.

Here are some other pants by Fox Racing if you like the pinstripe look.

Fox V-1 Full Face MX | Youth Motocross Helmet http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-v-1-youth-motocross-helmet/ http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/fox-v-1-youth-motocross-helmet/#comments Mon, 04 May 2009 20:37:09 +0000 Nick http://www.spotmotorcycles.com/?p=640 Fox V-1 Youth Motocross Helmet Preventing Junior from breaking his head doesn't necessarily mean you have to break the bank too. The Fox V1 Youth Motocross helmet is an entry-level dome protector with a lot of big boy and big price tag features.

Fox is without a doubt at the top of the motocross gear industry and has a long history of quality products worn and tested by top pros every weekend. Fox is always pushing the design envelope and style definitely isn't a problem here. The graphics on the injection-molded polycarbonate V1 are just as sharp as the ones on the adult line.

Don't let the term entry-level fool you into thinking this is a sub-par lid either. The youth V1 has the same overall design as the adult V1, just in a smaller package. That means it meets all the same safety standards and pretty much has all the same features as Dad's helmet. Those features include vent channels in the shell that keep Junior's head nice and cool in the summer heat as well as keep his hair nice and dry. There's also an integrated roost guard that shields your little one from flying rocks and helps ensure they don't lose those baby teeth before the tooth fairy gets a crack at them.

Even with all the bells and whistles, helmet choice ultimately comes down to safety, fit, and comfort. Just remember to make sure your little racer's head fits in the helmet nice and snug, and that he or she is comfortable when wearing it. All in all, it's a nice helmet from a nice company at a nice price.

Here's another flashier youth helmet to consider from THH.
