My first riding helmet was a matte black shell without any kind of symbol or emblem aside from the DOT sticker. After a while, I cut a few designs out of reflective tape and decorated its plain exterior. One of my riding buddies told me later that the design, even in the daylight, made me more visible because it drew attention. So, now I can legitimately justify paying extra for decals because they are safety gear.
The THH Web helmet combines a couple things I like. They have sharp, ballsy graphics and give you the option of a subtle color palette. Just because I want pretty pictures doesn't mean I want them in neon green and orange. The matte finish with gray, white, and black graphics gives a sneaky, devious look to this helmet. You can get a wide selection of colors for the Web helmet, but that's personal preference.
Graphics are great, and often the only detail that differentiates one quality helmet from another, but in the motocross world it isn't the graphics that will save your skull. This THH helmet is DOT approved, of course, and boasts a tough polycarbonate shell. The liner is removable and washable, which is great because motocross helmets have to contend with mud and grit as well as sweat. You can purchase replacement visors, mouth pieces, liners, and cheek pads if you should lose or damage any of them.
The size selection ranges from a youth small to an XXL. An acceptable helmet, the THH Web has an oddly light price tag. This is a good, safe way to complete your necessary gear ensemble if you really can't afford to pick up a top-of-the-line racing helmet.
