Let's start with protection, since that is job one of a performance motorcycle jacket. The armor is composite in construction certified to EN 1621.197. This is the latest European racing standard. In addition to the internal armor, there is a shoulder insert injected with titanium. Back armor is not included, but there is a pocket for G1 and G2 spine protection.
Venting has been well thought out, as would be expected. Air inlets are located on the chest and sides. This system works well with the jacket because it is cut very close to the rider. Racing jackets must be cut this way, and rear vents tend to be rendered ineffective in such a tight cut.
You might be surprised to find that that there is some built-in storage in the Dainese Racing Leather Jacket. There is one internal and two external pockets.
