Yuasa Motorcycle Battery

6 Volt Polypropylene B38-6A

Yuasa Motorcycle Battery I love Yuasa's motto: "The fun starts here." It reminds me that every time I fire up my bike and enjoy a cruise around town, a dance of mechanical and electrical systems is coordinating perfectly, and it all begins with a spark in the unlit recesses of the machine. According to Yuasa, they have provided that spark to more motorcycle manufacturers than all other battery producers put together.

The B38-6A is a conventional 6-volt battery. The machines that take this style battery are pretty specific -- old BMWs and a few British and Italian bikes -- but these are workhorse batteries.

Heavy duty glass mat, a grid design, and compounded active material all contribute to a structure that will work under heavy vibration. Some of the older bikes are known for their shaking, and Yuasa has long been their driving force.

The through-partition design creates a shorter current path that will deliver more power on demand. The case is heat sealed polypropylene to protect against leaks, corrosion, weather degradation, and impact. These measures extend the battery's life, but I have to admit I would prefer a maintenance-free model. I've never been a fan of playing with battery acid.

Because this is the battery that your bike likely came with, you can rest assured that your system will function how it was meant to with the right level of power draw and supply.
