Yamaha Virago 500 750 1100 Windscreen This windshield is made for the Yamaha Virago, 500, 750 and 1100 series (but you can definitely make it work on other makes and models besides the Virago if you know what you're doing.) This is a big windshield. This is not a sexy windshield. This is not a sleek little bubble that will flow air just-so, enabling you to go faster. This is what we used to call a "bat-wing" windshield. It will not only protect your upper body and face, but your hands as well. It will keep you warmer, dryer and less damaged. I say "less damaged" because I was riding a Yamaha Virago (the 535, who knew), with no windshield at all, and I got hit by a duck.

No. Seriously. I got hit by a duck.

I was just entering the freeway at a high rate of speed, cornering the on-ramp past a man-made bird sanctuary full of ducks. And as I looked to my left to make sure my entry lane was clear, a duck flew up from the marsh. When I looked ahead again, there the duck was -- heading right for my face! I ducked (Ha!!) and the duck's legs clipped my helmet, which was a beanie with a visor. The result was gruesome: feathers and gore. To make a long story short, this windshield would not have helped the duck, but it would have prevented me showing up at work covered in yuck, and had I not seen the duck before it hit my head, having a windshield might have saved my life. I still feel bad about the duck.

At about $70, this windshield is made of durable material, mounts to your handlebars easily, is fully adjustable, comes with all hardware, and is DOT approved.
