Vance and Hines has been around for exactly 30 years now, and clearly intend to continue their tradition of quality and innovative products for street and racing. The founders of the company (and their progeny) are in fact active, winning racers themselves with their own NHRA motorcycle team.
The slip-on SS2-R was introduced in the 1980's and essentially initiated the market in sport-bike exhausts. Updated over time, of course, it now features a triple-chambered system of internal baffling to increase power and yet keep noise to a minimum. The baffles are fairly easy to remove and can be repacked.
Available for many different makes and models of sport bikes, the SS2-R is available in polished aluminum or carbon fiber. The carbon fiber canister version is a full 1.5 pounds lighter than the aluminum canister. Also available for the carbon fiber version, but not recommended for the street, is a straight-through baffle made for racing. The end-caps for both versions are made from machined billet aluminum.
This muffler was designed to increase horsepower, so expect at least some noise, especially at higher revs. Some fuel intake adjustments may be necessary as well. Price is quite competitive in this very competitive market.

Regarding Vance & Hines Muffler for Buell M2:
Is there a kit available for the repacking of the muffler?
Thank you, Greg.
