The Suomy Vandal Bayliss Limited is Suomy's new entry-level helmet designed for sport riders, sport tourers, and "urban riders", whatever that might mean. The Vandal features the same features found in Soumy's top-shelf premium helmets such as an ultra-luxurious liner with special "anti-nap" fabric the provides comfort, durability and hypoallergenic qualities. It also has closable Delta air diffusers positioned near the back of the helmet for ventilation. The helmet has an aggressive look and noticeable color scheme so those folks in cages will be sure and see you.
In addition, the Suomy Vandal is ultra-lightweight at only 1250 grams. Its DVRC (Dynamically Variable Resistance Crumple) zones provide ventilation and energy management in a uni-body EPS design. It features a Structurally Enhanced Composite fiber weave and Sound Absorbing Polymers as well as a High Optics Anti-Scratch, Anti-Fog shield, and a Removable and Washable 3D Comfort Liner and Cheek Pads.
Suomy is known for their high-end helmets, and they incorporate nice touches such as two shell sizes to pick from in addition to the
quality liner. Suomy has years of experience developing quality design from MotoGP and F1 racing, and those designs translate well to street helmet needs.
Suomy does not make cheap helmets. Even their "entry level" helmet is over $300. I have seen this one sold for anywhere between $399 and $460. Shopping around is recommended.
