Every summer we used to take a cross-country ride. We would usually end up riding about 4,000 miles one way, turn around and head back. This is a trip that I've done over and over to different destinations, on a 250 Virago, a 600 Shadow, a 535 Virago, a 500 Vulcan and a 650 VStar. And each and every time, right at about 500 miles on the road, I've wished that I had something to lean my back on.
Now backrests come in all styles, and a lot of them are, well, fugly. But Corbin, in keeping with their history of manufacturing functionally sleek and stylish saddles, has made a backrest that fits the bill. The seat is studded but not over-the-top. It fits Corbin and other brands of seats that will accept a backrest with a 5/8-inch square stem, and is 4.5 inches long. The angle of the pad is adjustable and has 2 inches of foam padding for comfortable back support.
Corbin does make seats for sport bikes as well as cruisers, so a smaller version of this backrest is available. The backrest is made from high-quality, marine-grade black vinyl with the look of leather. At $99.99, it's your decision whether you love your back enough to buy it for your next long ride.
The studded backrest will also match the looks of your new Ace Luggage studded saddlebags.
