SSR Motorsports offers a mad variety of pit bikes from meek to freak and everything in between. They've become one of the top competitors in this modest-sized but avid market by providing lots of choices, good products, and good support from customer service to engineering.
The SR125 is an entry-level pit bike, made for those who might actually use this as a pit bike at the races or for someone new to the new breed/sport/world of pit bikes. Even as an introduction to pit bikes, the SR125 shows just how far the technology of these machines has advanced in just a handful of years.
On the front and back are hydraulically-assisted disc brakes with wave rotors. The front forks are tuned to handle most adult riders, and the rear 275-mm mono-shock has a preload adjustment. The frame and swing-arm are steel and arch the little bike up to its 10.25" ground clearance.
Its 124-cc four-stroke engine is fed by a 22-mm carburetor and creates a surprisingly zippy 7.8 horsepower at 7500 rpm. It's air-cooled, so no concerns about radiator damage or leakage, and has four forward gears to get you moving. The 0.8-gallon gas tank will probably wear you out long before it runs out of fuel.
The 29" seat height makes it an easy mount for most adults, even if you are just a kid at heart. With a fairly low center of gravity and weighing in at 170 pounds, this is one bike you can toss around with ease.
For well under a grand you can purchase some really fun pit transportation, have a ball just goofin' around on one of these, or even compete all the way to national levels if you just can't get enough.
