There are some weekend mornings when I wake to the (oddly loud) birds, and the first thought to roll through my mind is: I could really go for a ride. I get up, skip the shower, and head out on a chilly, sunny morning to take advantage of the quiet roads while the rest of the world is still hung over in bed. When the cars start coming out, I head home feeling refreshed, but when I loose my hands from the grips I realize that the cold has sunk into my joints and frozen my hands in the riding position. Forcing them to move hurts -- it actually hurts. Maybe I'm getting old...
Anyway, heated grips prevent the coagulation of the liquid in your joints so you'll be able to do simple things, like dig the house key out of your pocket. Even if you're not so sadly decrepit, I'm sure you can think of times you might want to use a set of heated grips by Show Chrome. True to the name, the mounting hardware and adjustment dial are chromed to match your bike.
These 1-inch rubber grips come with everything you need to hook them up to your bike's electrical system. A five-position dial lets you select varying degrees of heat, or leave them off. These are just what you need on cold days, when the season is waxing or waning, or when it snows in June like it did in Montana the other day.
