If you've been into off-road motorcycles (or BMX, or surfing, or mountain biking) for five minutes, then you've heard of Fox Racing. Like the cartoon character Savoir Faire, they are everywhere. And they make some bang-up gear that you can take out and bang up all the live-long day.
Shift is Fox's budget brand -- gear for growing families and anyone looking to save a little money, usually about half the cost of Fox's regular line-up, with some exceptions. But Shift also goes after cutting-edge designs to capture the substantial youth market in off-road clothing and protective equipment.
The Assault pant fits into the budget and youth market. It comes in six different color and pattern variations. Constructed from 600 denier polyester, it's made to withstand abrasion and has stretch panels at every human intersection to allow for flexibility and comfort. Logos on the yoke, thigh, and knee made of TPR (thermoplastic rubber) will hold up well and generally resist staining. The waist has a generously adjustable ratchet-style closure for a custom, personal fit. All the stuff you expect from an off-road pant is in place.
One notable complaint about this pant is that some say the seams tend to come apart. As this pant is limited to sizes 28-38, and they reportedly run small, the correct fit may be a factor. Try these on first, if at all possible. Otherwise, these are a good deal for something you mean to abuse.
These gloves will add the right amount of protection and style to go with your new Shift Assault pants.
