Puma footwear is well known in the sporting world. If you are into basketball, football or baseball, you have either seen or worn Puma shoes. Puma's motorcycle footwear is not as familiar, but is growing in popularity. Puma offers a full range of moto-specific boots. One of the more innovative is the Puma Flat v2 Boots. These boots are a compromise between fully armored street boots and a pair of tennis shoes.
Does this compromise mean that protection is sacrificed? Well, yes, to some extent. One look at the boot will reveal that it lacks full upper ankle and shin protection. However, it is immensely more protective than regular shoes or boots. For such a short boot, the design incorporates respectable lateral protection and stability. The boot also boasts armored inserts in critical locations to help protect the foot in the event of a crash.
I like the styling. The traditional Puma design is evident on the sides and on the sole. The rest of the look is clean and understated. The boot is offered in Euro sizing from 38-47, so you'll have to consult their sizing chart for US sizing. Color options include all black, black and red, and gray.
