Black Expanding Backpack CL450

Nelson-Rigg Strap Mount Tank Bag Not everyone in the world is keen on magnetic tank bags, but you wouldn't know it based on how many companies seem to be selling bags with only magnetic mounting systems. I am not opposed to magnets, but good old fashion straps have their place and are a secure and sure way to keep your bag where you put it.

Nelson-Rigg's CL-450 is a good sized tank bag at 15 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 7 inches high. The height expands to 11 inches if you need some extra space. The strap mounting system will never make you worry about shifting, and a protective pad will prevent scratching. The bag converts to a backpack when it's time to walk away.

The CL-450 is treated for UV protection and is also equipped with a reflective webbing to increase your visibility. Constructed of ballistic nylon, this is a tough bag and will maintain its shape whether full or empty. Exterior pouches permit you to be organized, even if you're otherwise disorganized, and there is of course a clear map pouch.

So, a great strap-mounting tank bag for all occasions. It will cost about $100, so you'll have to give it some thought. Tank bags are getting cheaper and cheaper, so shopping around is advisable.

Now, I'd like to impart a bit of unrelated advice about magnets. If you have an older tank and it has suffered internal rusting, you can prevent some of the rust flakes from making their way into your engine by placing a ring magnet around the hose above your fuel filter. Occasionally remove the hose and clean it out, because the magnet will trap some particulates.
