Products like the Kruzer Kaddy stainless cup make me nervous. It isn't the look, intention, or application of such a thing that triggers my caution, but what it could represent for the riding community. A cup holder alone is fine. I like a frosty beverage as well as the next person, as long as it doesn't come connected to an armrest, and then an ashtray, and then walls and doors. The slippery slope argument, however, is a logical fallacy, so lets take the Kruzer Kaddy cup at face value for the time being.
Despite my nuanced car suggestions, cruisers are about comfort, because they are about the long haul. Most riders I know put about 5,000 miles on per summer. The Kruzer Kaddy provides a snug resting place for 12 oz., 16 oz., or 20 oz. bottles and cans. Designed to fit most bars, the chrome plated steel bracket will attach to anything from 7/8 inch to 1-1/4 inch.
The cup is detachable from the bracket, so you don't have to remove the whole assembly if you want to go for a light evening cruise, or if you want to take your beverage in the holder with you off the bike. The Kruzer Kaddy is also an easy place to keep change for tolls, or anything that isn't going to blow away.
If you wear a full face helmet, a Camelbak might be a better bet for hydration. The nearly $40 price leaves me uncertain about my need for such a detail, but the high-grade materials don't come cheap, and this isn't crack-able plastic. Perfect for those who don't want to pull over, or thread a hose through their helmet, to take a sip.
