Icon Waterproof Short Boot Icon calls this bit of footwear their Accelerant boot. It is hardly a boot. I know short boots are all the rage, but this is almost more of a shoe. The Accelerant is, however, one heck of a rocking shoe.

The exterior is constructed of durable leather and nylon. This provides excellent abrasion resistance while maintaining airflow. An interior steel shank provides support and maintains the structure in the event of a foot-bending crash. For additional protection, the Accelerant has ankle armor and a shin deflection strap with an aluminum lock buckle. An anti-slip, pro-grip rubber sole will hold the pegs and give you positive control over your rear brake.

Despite its shoe-like appearance, the Accelerant has everything a proper riding boot ought to have, and the lightweight construction makes it easy to wear on and off the bike. Because they do look like shoes, and fashionable shoes at that, they will wear nicely at any venue.

These are made by Icon, so you can trust the stitching. I find that Icon always gives products worth their prices, which are within range of even my meager wallet's capabilities. Although, I could do without the red accents. I'm a fan of subtle styling and monotones. To some, the accents might be just what they need to make these boots stand out against the competition.

Oh, did I mention that these boots are waterproof? They are, in fact, 100 percent waterproof. So, now you have everything you could want in a riding boot.
