I am a big fan of Icon's leather gear. They have impeccable stitching and ergonomic architecture, so it should be no surprise that I would recommend the Pursuit gloves to just about any rider. Comprised of perforated sheepskin, your hands will stay cool and the gloves themselves are oh-so-soft. Don't let the supple nature of the leather fool you -- these are a durable covers for your precious, irreplaceable digits.
Battlehide goatskin reinforces the heal and pads of the palm where you are most likely to encounter abrasion should you falter. Beneath the leather, plastic knuckle armor is surreptitiously stowed. Icon's design for the Pursuit delivers a good looking leather glove without the external armor, so riders who want a subtle look can still have the same protection.
Cold weather riding makes the perforation more of a nuisance than a feature, so Icon gives buyers the option of a solid, sheepskin exterior. The Pursuit gloves are available in black, red, blue, gray, and white. I prefer the black, but each to their own.
The wrist strap makes for a secure fit, but these are short gloves so you may want longer jacket sleeves if you're looking for full coverage. The perforation carries some obvious drawbacks for foul weather riding, but on 90 percent of your rides you'll find it provides breathable comfort.
Little details show a manufacturer's care and attention, so Icon put snaps on the wrists of their Pursuit gloves to hold them together when you're not riding. Never again will you be getting ready for a ride only to find that your left glove has gone and run off on you.
