Go down to Florida and you're going to see, for the most part, only two species of bikes: Harley-Davidsons and Honda Goldwings. I haven't quite figured it out. Maybe it is the ride of the retiree or somehow related to the weather, but that appears to be their natural habitat. These big bikes need to breath deep, especially in the heat, so the filter you use can make or break your engine's longevity.
K&N is still the master when it comes to motorcycle filters. Any company looking to compete with them for quality is going to have to do a lot of work to knock them down. The K&N for the Goldwing (or any other bike) is ideal due to engineering that's resulted in superior filtration with virtually no resistance to the airflow.
A lack of resistance to the incoming of fresh, cool air will help your engine perform better and longer. K&N states that you'll generally get 1-4 horsepower by using their filters instead of the OEM part. Getting 4 horsepower more would be a pleasant surprise, but you're not going to get all that good stuff if your filter is dirty, so K&N's filter systems are washable and ought to last you the life of your bike.
