Harrison Specialties Motorcycle Backrest

Corbin Driver Seat Black

Posted by

Harrison Specialties MotorcycleMost passenger seats have backrests, but the driver is often left without such comfort. For a run to the store you don't need the support, but when you are on the bike for six hours you might start to feel your posture slumping and your back muscles aching from fatigue.

Harrison Specialties sells a simple 12-inch by 10-inch driver's backrest for under $100. The backrest is designed to fit Corbin seats, or any seat that will accommodate a 5/8-inch wide, 4.5-inch long square stem.

The backrest is covered in high quality marine-grade vinyl with robust stitching. Vinyl will not be as resistant to sun damage as leather, but putting a cover over the backrest is not difficult and will prevent deterioration. The black vinyl will pass for leather without close inspection, so the overall look of your machine will be left undisturbed. If you must have leather, be prepared to pay more.

On those long trips, it's nice to let 2 inches of foam padding take some of the responsibility off of your lower back muscles. Your trip will be more comfortable and you might be able to ride a little longer and see a little more of the world. Far too often we just accept discomfort, but there is no reason to be uncomfortable on your motorcycle. Discomfort doesn't make you tough; it just makes you walk funny at the end of the day.

Harrison Specialties also sells smaller rests for sport bikes and a variety of styles including red-trimmed and studded backrests.
