Tall Backrest Pad | Black One Piece Upright

Posted by

Harley-Davidson Softail Having a backrest is only beneficial if it doesn't cause you more grief than comfort. Passengers don't get the solo rider's benefit of being able to shift around to get comfy. If they do wiggle about, it irritates the person who actually has to control the machine, so a proper rest that you can lean right into is really, really nice. Those short things that wedge into the small of your back don't cut it.

Harley's tall backrest pad for their one-piece upright is as comfy as it is pretty. The stitch pattern mimics the shape of the back, although I could do without the seam where the spine rests. This is tall enough to provide support for you to let your muscles relax and enjoy the ride.

Should you own a Softail OE seat and pillion, this backrest will match them perfectly, and it won't look bad with just about any seat. As with many Harley products, you are getting high quality materials and good strong stitching.

Now, there's a catch (isn't there always?) -- The pad itself will only run you about $80, but the sissy bar upright to which you attach the backrest pad is going to cost more than 3 times that amount. You might be able to rig the pad with another upright, or just decide that you can afford the luxury, but be prepared.
