Harley-Davidson Front Fender Rail I've always liked the phrase, "The devil is in the details." I suppose there are a few ways to look at that, and usually it has to do with hidden evils, but I prefer to see it as dressed-up temptations. It is, after all, the small attentions that craftsmen pay to their projects that make them irresistible. Were a motorcycle just a way to get from here to there, it would not be half so alluring as it is when you add all of those sumptuous accents and details.

You rarely find a tack-on accessory that can speak as many unwritten volumes as Harley's chrome fender rail. There's a volume on history: This rail is designed to re-create the 1959 Harley accessory. There's a volume about art: The application of chrome, trim, and empty space take the eye softly to the frame of the bike. There's even a volume for the functionalist: I suppose you could bungee something to your front fender and use it as an attachment point... but you really oughtn't to do that.

Simply put, this is a beautiful detail that can rejuvenate the look of any machine. You'll have to pay for the privilege, but this accessory is purely luxury, so I think Harley has a right to charge whatever they want. And you'll have to decide if it's worth it.
