Aluminum Muffler | Indoor Racing

FMF Racing Powercore Silencer If you are the proud owner of, say, a 20-year-old Honda CR500R, then you will have to replace a part here or there. When you find yourself in the market for a new silencer, it would serve you well to buy something that baffles the growl and increases performance.

FMF Racing's PowerCore silencer offers increased power and throttle response over stock and provides factory silencer look and sound. If you want to ride motocross, indoor racing puts a limit on the decibels you can produce and loud pipes mean you are not getting the most out of your machine. The PowerCore is also made to be lighter than the stock silencer, so you won't be adding extra weight.

Getting down to brass tacks: According to FMF, the PowerCore silencer is an extruded aluminum canister with nickel plated stinger and end cap. This silencer can be torn down with the tools you already own and FMF Racing promises it will fit your OEM pipe.

The PowerCore is easy to rebuild and FMF recommends that you keep an ear out for an increase in volume and repack your silencer as needed to maintain sound and performance quality. FMF sells replacement packing for all of their systems.

Here's a slip-on muffler kit by Cycle Shack. It works well on Sportsters, but you can find it for plenty of other models, too.
