Digital Guard Dawg

Type 1 Motorcycle Security Alarm RFID

Posted by

Digital Guard Dawg Motorcycle security systems have run the gamut from no-tech to high tech, but the Digital Guard Dawg is the first product ever to offer advanced "Personal Recognition Technology" in a motorcycle security system. This technology is similar to systems featured on some luxury cars, but it was designed and developed specifically for motorcycles.

Personal Recognition Technology allows the rider to arm and disarm their security system in a completely "Hands Free" manner. The rider simply carries with them a small RFID device called a Dawg Tag. The Dawg tag transmits its unique digital identity to the system as the rider approaches to within 10 feet of their motorcycle. There is no need to push any buttons, mess with keys, or try to remember codes. The system is seamless, and all security functions are handled automatically as you walk away from your bike and as you return to it.

The downside of this product is that it is an alarm. It will make a lot of noise. Technology has come a long way since the first car alarms, and frankly no one really pays any attention to car alarms anymore except to wonder when in the world the owner is going to get there to turn that dang noise off. It could be amusing if a Guard Dawg goes off outside a bar and 50 guys come piling out, all looking to whup somebody's ass. But barring that, in addition, there are now other similar products selling for quite a bit less than the $169 a pop for the Guard Dawg... like Xena bike alarms.
