"It's not so much of a problem having to deal with helmet hair as it is trying to deal with not being able to ride my bike because of the weather." This was told to me by a seasoned woman rider who I noticed pulling off a Harley-Davidson half helmet after pulling up to a café. I told her that her hair didn't look too bad and she shouldn't worry. She told me, "Look, hun, when you get to my age, there's only two things I look forward to: riding and making whoopie." She then laughed as I probably looked a little taken aback, but I managed to ask her if she liked her helmet without being too uncomfortable. She said something along the lines of, "it's light and it works." So, I thought I should look into it more.

The Harley-Davidson Women's Hybrid Ultra-Light Half Helmet is made out of a super strong hybrid fiberglass and aramid shell. This makes it about 17% lighter than traditional fiberglass shells, but just as strong. The sleek design is complimented with the puffy Harley-Davidson graphics that give it a unique 3-D look. It has a traditional double D-ring chin strap, and the inner lining is soft and removable. The lining is also moisture wicking and anti-microbial to keep anything from growing in there. The visor and neck curtain are also removable in case it's too hot, or you want to throw a 3-snap face shield on. Of course, this half shell also meets DOT requirements. It's available in women's sizing from XS all the way up to 2XL.

This is a great looking Harley Davidson 3/4 helmet. Part way in between a full face helmet and a half-stock helmet, the 3/4 helmet is a good compromise.

Weighing in at less than three pounds, it is made with a durable safety fiberglass shell. It features a standard D-ring chin strap.

On the front is the traditional bar and shield logo, but this time it's in the form of an air vent.

It has a replacement shield designed in either clear or smoke, and a helmet bag is included. Naturally, it meets all DOT requirements.

This helmet is sought after and right in style in the motorcycle world, with its light weight and black, glossy shine.

The safest type of helmet available, this full-face helmet provides extra protection with an extra strong polycarbonate shell.

Hardware is aluminum that provides optimal rotation as the chin bar is lifted. This allows for the least amount of torque and lift in the case of impact on the chin.

The knock on these types of helmets is their increased heat and lack of wind. This helmet attempts to address that with built-in air channel grooves and a wicking liner to keep the rider's head dry and cool.

The removable face shield provides clear visibility. The flames and Harley logo on the helmet are a subtle gray. This motorcycle helmet meets DOT requirements. Also included is a helmet bag.
