Think of it as bedazzling your stuff, but not in a dumb or cheap way. The best way to go about this kind of self medication is to add a bit of chrome to something un-chromed, like something that's plain ol' black leather.

We'll start by adding some chrome to your plain-Jane saddle bags with the Harley-Davidson Edge Cut Collection Saddlebag Latch Kit. These guys are made out of a rich black anodized aluminum that is machined to expose its rich highlights. These covers replace the original latch covers, but retain the stock hinges and locks to make installation easy. This kit includes enough goodies to do both the left and right sides. What's the difference, you ask? Well, I've seen "covers" that are made from a 10-year-old bed sheet. Not really going to protect that investment of yours, right? Another common "cover" is the good ol' 10'x10' blue tarp. Sure, it'll keep the rain from hitting your paint, but throw it over a hot exhaust and you'll melt that plastic like a glob of butter in a frying pan. If you're going to put the money into a nice motorcycle, you should put a little into the cover designed to protect it correctly.

That's where this Harley-Davidson motorcycle cover comes in. It's specifically designed to fit all touring models (except for the trike) and features a protective windshield liner as well as a securing strap. It also has elastic edges to help get a snug fit, and even a convenient storage pouch. It's made out of 300 denier fade-resistant polyester and has urethane-coated material as well as double-stitched seams to provide excellent waterproofing. Along with the exhaust heat shields, this cover is vented to keep weird stuff from incubating under the cover. It's not as cheap as a tarp, but it will look a lot nicer and do a better job.

The ones that combine necessities together to make life easier. Take the beer bottle opener/key chain for example. The key chain keeps all of your keys in one place, and the beer bottle opener makes it so you don't have to injure yourself trying to open that container of sweet, delicious beer. There are thousands of these types of inventions, but lately I've been into this little gadget from the one and only Harley-Davidson.

It's an LED penlight, but it's got a little bit of a twist (literally). It comes with a flexible and removable fiber optic pointer that lets you focus the bright LED light into hard-to-get-at areas. This is perfect when you're trying to see that mysterious bolt that you can't quite see with a standard flash light. The penlight itself produces over 15 lumens of clean blue/white light that's about the equivalent of a 95 watt bulb (I looked it up!). The Harley-Davidson Penlight is powered by just two AA batteries and will last up to 10 hours continuously, and if used properly, the LED bulbs will last forever. Not a bad idea for a gift if you've got a mechanic in the house, or want to send one to your favorite review writer. *Wink*

The good thing about it, though, is it makes it extremely easy to see with whom you might get along with as you stumble into a watering hole for a quick drink. Actually, now that I think about it, I used that area in front of the windshield to haphazardly store many items in which I hoped wouldn't disappear because of a bump in the road or a sharp turn. Well, the unfortunately named T-Bags designed a windshield bag that makes the best out of that extra space.

There are three streamlined pockets that can fit various small items, such as your cell phone or iPod, as well as house keys or even a little bit of spare change. The whole thing is made out of tough embossed PVC, which is waterproof and has been treated with UV inhibitors for protection from fading due to the sun. Installation just takes a couple of minutes, and this windshield bag will fit on all 2003-2009 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic/Standard/Ultra models. Best of all, this windshield bag doesn't look disgusting when it's hooked up, and you probably won't even notice it from the front.

In the past, the only items for safety that were usually made were made for men, because it was something like 1% of the riders out there were women, so not really a market that a business owner would want to invest in. Now, that number is jumping towards 20% of riders are women who own their bikes, so it's becoming a good thing that Harley and other companies are looking more at clothing designed for women.

The Women's Harley-Davidson Spirited 3-in-1 Functional Jacket is 100% waterproof polyester and contains a 100% cotton hooded vest that is removable and can be worn separately if desired. There's not a lot of stuff that's less than 100% on this jacket, as Harley-Davidson tends to go all the way. For the summer days, there's front sleeve vents and two vertical vents in the back that help circulate air through the jacket to keep you cool. The armor that's in the elbows, shoulders, and back are all removable for easy washing, and with all the pockets you could ever need, there shouldn't be a reason why you didn't bring your ID to the dance club.

Not only was I dumbfounded that someone could feel comfortable enough on a bike to catch some zzz's , but I noticed that the pad that she was in was basically like an oversized car seat. It was the first time I saw something like the Harley-Davidson King Tour-Pak Backrest Pad, and I'm not quite sure if I'd feel safe knowing my passenger was cutting logs behind me.

Recuperating on lost sleep isn't what Harley-Davidson had in mind when they made this, but I think it does hold a testament to the comfort it gives. It's designed to fit almost all '97 to current Touring models already equipped with the King Tour-Pak Luggage, so it's not a stand-alone backrest. You have to have the luggage already installed. It comes with everything you need to mount the pad, though. It seems like it might take away some of that instinct you might have to hold on for dear life, though, but will surely make your passenger of choice more comfortable if they decide to accompany you on a long trip.

The Harley-Davidson Women's Hybrid Ultra-Light Half Helmet is made out of a super strong hybrid fiberglass and aramid shell. This makes it about 17% lighter than traditional fiberglass shells, but just as strong. The sleek design is complimented with the puffy Harley-Davidson graphics that give it a unique 3-D look. It has a traditional double D-ring chin strap, and the inner lining is soft and removable. The lining is also moisture wicking and anti-microbial to keep anything from growing in there. The visor and neck curtain are also removable in case it's too hot, or you want to throw a 3-snap face shield on. Of course, this half shell also meets DOT requirements.
