The answer: by owning a backpack like the Cortech Black Motorcycle Backpack. It easily stores a full face helmet, even when the backpack compartments are completely full with your dirty gym clothes. It's made out of 1680 denier ballistic nylon, so you know it will handle a tumble or two. The padded helmet house stores into a hidden pocket when not being used, so you won't have to worry about it flapping around back like a disfigured flag of sorts. The shoulder and waist straps are ergonomic with mesh-padded backing to provide ventilation, and there is an interior pocket designed to hold a hydration pack or media player which has a rubber gate for the sip tube or earphone chords to get to your head. This bag has a lot of good features, but keep in mind that the extra weight of a helmet on your shoulders may require a massage from your significant other from time to time.

You can use both, but if you have a great paint job that you don't want to cover up, a tail bag will serve every non-map purpose of the ever-popular tank bag.

Cortech's Sport tail bag is an excellent example of the versatility these bags offer. The exterior is 1680 denier ballistic nylon, and the interior has a soft tri-coat lining. The bag itself offers 16 liters of storage capacity that can expand to 18 liters. Most of this space is in the main top loading compartment, but there are internal pockets to help keep everything organized.

This tail bag might not be enough for you, but there are built-in buckles for Cortech's saddlebags. These buckles store neatly away under a Velcro flap when not in use, which makes this bag easier to carry considering it has a shoulder strap and rubberized carry handle. Reflective striping and a complementary rain cover make this bag as road worthy as any riding gear.

The attachment mechanism is the only point of contention. The bag does attach to the bike securely with built-in bungee cords, but they are not covered, and bikes with wide tail ends might meet with some unnecessary wear. If Cortech could throw some neoprene covers on those cords, this would greatly improve the product.

It also has a removable, clear pocket right on top of the bag where you can store a map and then take it with you. A built-in rubber-lined pocket with a slot for a sip-tube lets you store a hydration pack so you never get thirsty on the road again. The whole bag mounts up using heavy-duty magnets and works on almost any bike. It is removable and has hideaway straps so you can easily turn it into a backpack. Oh yeah -- a rain cover is included as well.

All in all, Cortech has really done a nice job taking a mid-sized bag and loading it with cool features that will hopefully make your ride as stress-free as possible. This bag is a good choice for any rider.

The Cortech GX Air Series 2 jacket is a high-end jacket that combines a bit of flashy style with top notch materials and protection.

The GX Air Series 2 uses a combination of natural and synthetic materials. The back, shoulder and elbow panels are all decked out with washable Brazilian leather. In addition, the shoulders and elbows are protected by CE approved armor. The rest of the jacket is made from thick, yet breathable, mesh.

Cortech gave the sleeves a pre-curved and rotated design that is supposed to tailor specifically to the sport bike rider. The insulated liner is waterproof and can be removed in the summer. For those after dark rides, the GX Air Series 2 features reflective piping all around the jacket and a large Cortech triangle-shaped logo on the back. Even so, the jacket's visibility is not great for night riding.

Cortech put all the bells and whistles on this jacket. It has plenty of venting, pockets and zippers. It can even be zipped to riding pants if you wish. If you are looking for a serious jacket and have the money, this is not a bad choice.
