That same idea is behind the Joe Rocket Suzuki GSXR SuperSport Motorcycle Jacket. Besides being officially licensed as a Suzuki product, it has a lot of safety features -- like the CE-rated armor in the shoulders and the elbows and the variable flow ventilation system that is designed to keep you cool in the heat. It has a sure-fit adjustable wrist band and an eight-inch zipper for a pants attachment to create an entire racing suit. It's wind and water resistant and has a removable liner as well.

Zigging this way, zagging that way to avoid all the obstacles that jumped into my path, I came into a straight-away and pulled the throttle wide open. Dash marks started to blur into straight lines, and the only thing I could hear was a revving engine. Then all of a sudden, a giant foot crossed right into my path and I crashed headfirst into it. As the bike and I flipped over and crashed into the ground, I pulled myself back out of the induced daydream that the RC Venom GPV-1 Motorcycle put me into.

It's 1:8 scale, comes in all the colors of the rainbow, and features a fiber reinforced plastic chassis. This guy is not going to snap in half the first time you run it into a wall. The tires are specially designed for maximum speed and to take the turns without losing their grip. The controller layout is simple enough that newer drivers can use it, but the RC motorcycle provides enough challenge that experienced drivers will also love it. It has a well-balanced, low center of gravity for pavement-hugging handling, a USD (Upside Down) telescoping oil-filled front forks, threaded body oil-filled rear shocks, and 6 ball bearings on the chassis. I'm pretty sure this is better suited for the road than my current real bike. The controller is a 3-ch. FM radio transmitter so you can have multiple bikes running around at the same time, and the battery is a 7.2V 1200 NiMH battery. It comes with a wall charger, track stands, and 2 chassis assembly tools.

The AVG K3 Full Face Motorcycle helmet is streamlined for a smooth look that will fit most every style of bikes. It's easy to get low and lay on the tank without having to keep your head in an awkward position. The removable interior padding is covered with the Dry-Lex hygienic treatment, which will help with odors and keep it smelling as fresh as a daisy in there. The face shield is nice because it's bigger than average, which gives you a better field of vision as well as being treated for anti-fog and anti-scratch. It can be removed and swapped out in seconds with the Extra Quick Release System (I know, corny name, but it works). The ventilation system contains the standard front air intakes and rear extractors; it's good to keep that fresh air coming in.

We use this stuff at the scooter shop to keep the bikes in the showroom glistening under the bright fluorescent lights overhead. What's nice about the Street Bike Kit is that it contains everything you need to really clean up those plastic panels on your crotch rocket in a convenient, easy to store box. It's really annoying when you've got a bottle of cleaner but you can't find the polish that goes with it, even though you know it's somewhere in the garage.

The kit contains the Street Bike Wash, which you spray on, let sit for about 5 minutes, and then rinse off with a hose or a bucket of water. Next is the Spray Cleaner and Polish, which is great for quick cleaning and/or giving your bike that "freshly waxed" kind of look. It also smells of coconuts and is actually quite enjoyable. There is also a bottle of Metal Polish, which could be used to polish up your robot (I'm pretty sure that's what it's there for), but I've only used it for scrubbing the grime off the exhaust and the handlebars so far. The kit also has 2 microfiber cloths that won't scuff or scratch any plastic. Remember, kits make individual bottles harder to lose.

I've never been out on the track myself, but I've talked to people who race regularly and it seems to be the common remark. If you're new to track days, or to motorcycle racing in general, or a seasoned racing pro, finding a way to get your tires warmed up without driving around the track first is super helpful as to not waste valuable (and somewhat expensive) track hours.

These Slingshot Tire Warmers, made by DMP, are a great way to get your tires hot and ready in no time. They're chalked full of 110 Volts and 55 watts, which basically will get your tires to the 170 degrees you need in about 20 to 30 minutes. Unlike other tire warmers, these ones slip right on the tire with them still attached to the bike. Some require you to remove the wheel itself, but not the DMP version. There are some heating and standby indicator lights to let you know what's going on, too.

DMP sells these Slingshot Tire Warmers in sets of two, in either the "A" kit that has a front tire of 110-120 width and rear of 170-180, or the "B" kit which has the front tire of 110-120 and the rear of 190-195. They also come with a handy storage bag.

Not only do you get a great sense of relief knowing that your tires are new and will grip the pavement solidly, but throw a pair of whitewall tires on and you'll see people turning their heads when you fly by them.

There's just something about whitewall tires that brings a sense of nostalgia. They immediately class up even the classiest old cafe racer. These Double Whitewall Street/Cruiser motorcycle tires made by Shinko are a great way to add a little more of a vintage feel to your older bikes. I say older because these tires aren't tubeless. They're made for tube-type rims. They're available in the MT90-16 size, so that will rule out a few bikes as well. But for those of you with the correct rims, these Shinko tires are compounded for high mileage and rated "H" (up to 130mph) with a 4-ply nylon carcass. They have an Aramid belt that offsets the tread distortion for better grip and durability. Shinko also makes single whitewall and normal black-walled versions of the same tire, if you're not so down with the double whitewall look -- but really, how could you not?

When you realize that you need to get some replacement rubber, try checking out the Durotour RS-310 Sport Touring Motorcycle Tire made by IRC. These low profile tires provide a large contact area with the road, giving you the maximum traction you can get. The tread compound is formulated for extended mileage, so once you slap these puppies on, you won't have to worry about tires for a while. These are designed for tubeless applications but can also take tubes for your older bikes. IRC has a history of making solid tires -- they use quality components and aren't too expensive. Just like with any tire, you should give any new one 100 to 150 miles of breaking in before you really start digging into those corners and hammering those straight aways.
