As to what brand, or its specific attributes that make it appealing, I have no clue. I've just learned at an early age that it's best just to say those three words in order to avoid any "unexpected conflicts" that could arise. These Shift Women's Denim Street Motorcycle Pants are made out of a mixture of 12-ounce denim and stretch spandex, which provides greater abrasion resistance and protection all the while being able to hug those curves. If that wasn't enough, there are reinforced panels in the saddle, thigh, and knees to maximize the protection, and you know what those areas are reinforced with? 100% Kevlar, baby. Though not tested to stop a bullet, they should hold up well in the event of a spill. These jeans also feature five pockets, none are zipping however, but it makes these feel like a regular pair of jeans even more. They're available in women's sizes ranging from 0-16.

It's made of premium cowhide leather, and its removable armor and liner make it easy to clean and keep cool in the summer. I'm not saying that they're uncomfortable to walk in, but I would suggest breaking them in a little bit before walking a marathon in them. Sure, I try not to cry in front of the ladies if I cut myself with a knife or slam my finger in the car door, but that's just to look tough. I don't think I'd get up and brush off a fall from my bike where the skin from my shoulder is gone. The cool thing is that there are products like this Kevlar undershirt that can protect without making you look too "geared up."

Fasst makes this Kevlar Mesh Motorcycle undershirt called the Draggin' Shirt. Made out of 100% Kevlar, this shirt is designed to save the skin on your arms, back, and chest from coming into contact with the asphalt and causing some major pain. I don't, however, recommend trying to jump in front of bullets, though; it's not designed for that. The mesh design helps circulate air to keep you cool in the summer and can act like a pair of long johns in the winter for extra warmth. The arms are longer cut than most sweatshirts to accommodate for the riding position, and being unisex helps keep everyone protected. The shoulders and elbows have a double layer of Kevlar protection, too. They're made in the USA, which is always a big plus (go economy!). The only thing I've found is that though the Draggin' Shirt is comfortable, it's still a little rough right up against your skin. I recommend wearing a thin undershirt beneath this guy, but my skin is like a delicate flower, so maybe it won't bug you at all.

I'm not comfortable if the fabric is too tight, and I don't have very much room to move around when I want to. I feel like that would be the same case for most riders out there, too.

That's why I'm actually excited about the idea of something like the Draggin' Liners 100% Kevlar Pant Liners. They pretty much make any pair of jeans or slacks an instant pair of riding pants that can protect you in the event of an unexpected spill. Due to its unique mesh knit of 100% Kevlar, these liners are highly abrasion resistant, though your normal pair of jeans on the outside won't be. I'd recommend riding with a pair of pants that you're not going to miss if you happen to wreck and tear a hole in them. Draggin' put an extra layer of Kevlar in the knees and the seat area for added protection, too. Each pair of these Kevlar Liners are hand-made in the USA, so you know you're getting a good quality product.

These mesh liners are comfortable and breathable and will help circulate air during the summer, but will also help insulate you during the winter as an undergarment. The elastic on the bottom helps keep the liners from riding up on you, too.

It's made out of genuine naked cowhide leather, which is leather that is generally smooth on one side and slightly rougher on the other. There's a gel pad located in the palm area that is designed to add extra protection in the event of an accident, but also to provide protection from shaken nerves on your hands on longer rides. Essentially, the gel absorbs some of the vibration from the handlebars to make your hands less shaky. The adjustable wrist strap is used to tighten the gloves on and keeps them in place. Besides being officially licensed as a Suzuki product, it has a lot of safety features -- like the CE-rated armor in the shoulders and the elbows and the variable flow ventilation system that is designed to keep you cool in the heat. It has a sure-fit adjustable wrist band and an eight-inch zipper for a pants attachment to create an entire racing suit. It's wind and water resistant and has a removable liner as well.

So, enough of my ramblings on the safeness of the matter. Think about a pair of the Monsoon Classic Motorcycle Gloves made by Olympia if you're looking for an inexpensive solution for your hands. They're made out of treated leather and are 100% waterproof. They have good padding on the palms and the knuckles for that added little bit of protection. They can clip together like a pair of ski gloves to keep them from getting separated when you're not using them, and the strap around the wrist ensures that you've got a nice tight fit. Not the best gloves out on the market, but a great deal for something from Olympia.
