The world of motorcycle helmets is like an evil weed in the flower bed of life. The more you dig to find the roots and try to take out the problem plants, the more you destroy the habitat of the growing wonders you wish to enjoy. I'm relating this directly towards the multitude of "weed" helmets out there. You know, the ones that look good in the pictures, and the price tags look about what you'd want to pay, but in reality, this "weed" helmet does little more good than becoming your next hanging flower pot.

With that in mind, let's take the I-volution Matte Black Full Face Motorcycle Helmet for example. Unlike many of the brands you see online and on auction websites, I-volution has a real website and a dealer network. This means that even though they're inexpensive, there is at the very least a place where you can bring any concerns about quality to a person face to face. Besides just being a run-of-the-mill full face helmet, these guys are streamlined to reduce wind noise and are well vented. They are DOT approved, and to make the deal a little sweeter, each one comes with smoke and clear visor. It's not the best helmet out there, but hey, for the price it doesn't hurt to have one around for a spare.

FlEXiT Hands Free Flashlight | Risk Racing Flexible Light Tool, Magnetic LED

When you're working in your garage, it always seems like light has a way of being everywhere except for the place you need it. Sure, having a flashlight can remedy that problem, but I find that a lot of the time using your hand to hold the light and another to do the wrenching makes things just a bit harder. We've started using hands-free flashlights at the shop, and we've never looked back... but we could because we have plenty of light to see.

The Risk Racing FlEXiT Ultra Flexible & Thin hands-free flashlight has a flexible body that allows an unlimited amount of light projections. It can easily be bent or folded to wrap the light around objects to keep it in position to let you see what you're doing. At the base there are two powerful neodymium magnets that allow you to stick this guy securely to any metal object, giving you even more flexibility on where you can see. There are a total of 16 high output LEDs that produce a lot of light. There's also three choices for the amount of light produced, either Low, Medium, or High for when you want to brighten a whole room. It uses 3 AA batteries (which are included). Let's say, hypothetically, that you're the type of person that really likes to keep adding accessories on your bike. Heck, that's why you keep coming back to look at reviews about accessories that you might be somewhat interested in right? LED Magnetic Flashlight, Hands Free | Risk Racing Light Mine, Flood & Night Vision

It sucks trying to work in the dark. I'm sure bats don't mind doing it, but I don't have echolocation abilities... yet. So, until I master my gene splicing techniques, I think I'll stick to the good old 3-foot-long Maglite. Oh, wait. I forgot that those things are a little cumbersome to hold and try to spin a wrench at the same time. Well, luckily I've stumbled across the Risk Racing Magnetic Light Mine.

Besides being a "hands free" version of a flashlight, this little doohicky will attach to any surface a magnet can. It uses its eleven powerful neodymium magnets found around the center, making it basically stick-able in 360 degrees. It gives off light from its 16 high-output LED bulbs, which are also wide angle giving you more of a variance. As if just being a source of light through the dark wasn't enough, it has a total of four light functions: a low powered spotlight for direct light, a high-output flood light to really brighten the space, a red "night vision" mode, and a blinking red signal mode for any instance when you find yourself on the side of the road. Heck, it even comes with the 3 AAA batteries you need to power it with. I think it's a great idea and can see it getting a lot of use in the shop.

"Ha ha ha guys, very funny. I see what you did there. Taking my Kowie and running it through all the dirt over there. I'm sure it was a lot of fun, heck I bet if I wasn't laying in the tent with all of my limbs duct-taped together, I could've come out and helped get all that mud everywhere too.

"I brought a can of this here Plexus Spray Cleaner made by Vega. Oh? You've never heard of it? Well, buddy, let me tell you something -- I use it on all my helmets to keep them looking brand new. It can also be used to clean, polish, and protect all painted or clear-coated plastics just like all the panels that are caked in mud on my bike there.

"What's that? No, I don't think it's going to clean your police record, silly! But hey, you cut this duct tape off my wrists, grab a towel, and we'll just call the whole thing a misunderstanding."

Nighthawk Motorcycle Light Bulb | GE Headlight Platinum Replacement Pack of 2

Imagine you're riding throughout the night in less than perfect weather. You can see the rain streaming through the high beams and you're so focused on the road that you don't take the time to wipe the rain off of your visor. Your muscles are tense, your senses are on edge because you're not familiar with the particular road you're on. This is when perfect timing comes in and your headlight burns out. It's a really scary scenario, and one that I found myself in not too long after getting my first bike. Luckily, the low beam still worked. I slowed way down and took my time, but I was worried that any bump might cause it to burn out too, and I'd be stranded. The next day, I went out and bought a new bulb, and I was pleasantly surprised by these guys.

The NightHawk Platinum Replacement Bulb, from GE, actually does appear to give off 90% more light than a standard halogen. The light is pure white, too, and doesn't have that yellow tint that you see in a lot of bikes on the road. They're so bright that people might flash their brights at you thinking you've got them on, which I love because then I flash my brights and really blind them. I don't feel bad about it either; because I've only got one headlight, it ought to be as bright as it can. These bulbs are available in many wattage settings, so make sure you find the replacement bulb compatible with your motorcycle.

Air Force USAF Motorcycle Emblem | Hap Arnold Chrome metal Adhesive

My family has a pretty rich military background. My grandfather served during WWII, my father was in the Air Force, my uncle currently serves in the Navy, and my brother had a stint in the Army. Though I've never fought for this country, I'd like to think that I've helped to support the cause, and I'm proud of what my family has accomplished through their service. With that being said, I don't see any harm in showing off that pride by sticking one of these Chrome Plated Premium Metal Emblems on my bike.
