Alpinestars V-Twin Leather Pants When I think of leather pants, two things come to mind: safe and hot. Nothing beats leather for abrasion protection. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of sliding down the asphalt, it's awfully nice to have some leather between you and the road.

When I say I think leather pants are hot, there are two applicable meanings. I do think there is a classic appeal to the look of leather that can be attractive. Dehydration and heat stroke, however, are not attractive. Leather pants, especially black leather pants, are hot. I would not recommend putting these on for a ride at high noon in August.

I live in Michigan, so as the season begins and ends there are some chilly days. The Alpinestars V-Twin leather pants are great for this cool weather riding. As the season opens, it's especially good to have a little extra protection in case problems have arisen with your bike or yourself during the offseason.

V-Twin leather pants are designed for comfort in the riding position. Kevlar stretch panels allow for movement without losing protection. Extra safety features include a reinforced seat, padded hip panels, and removable CE certified protectors. Alpinestars thought ahead and gave these pants a waist zipper that will attach them to selected Alpinestars jackets and give the rider head-to-toe shielding.

If you like the protection of leather but ride in the heat, you may want to look into chaps. Chaps provide ample airflow, still have that sexy leather, and you can remove them if you're going to spend a lot of time off the bike.
