Alpinestars SP-X Gloves Finding a decent pair of gloves can be hard for me. I have small hands. Adult small gloves often have fingers that are still too long, and kids glove's fingers are too short. Caught between these worlds, I've found that the very thing more riders don't like about Alpinestars' SP-X gloves is my favorite feature.

The SP-X comes to you small. Many riders say you should order a size larger than normal, but those who have stuck it out with what they got found that the snug glove broke in to fit. It just takes a little patience and a willingness to be uncomfortable for a short time. Don't be uncomfortable while riding, but maybe wear them around off the bike for a while. People will look at you like you're on your way to a strangling, but it'll be worth it.

Full-grain leather with mesh venting makes these good summer riding gloves. The palm is reinforced with leather and has a synthetic suede layer for grip. You'll find that the printed silicone fingertips also add to traction where you need it. Ample protection is offered with Alpinestars' classic carbon fiber knuckles and micro-injection finger knuckles. Alpinestars even uses their company's thermoplastic logos as a method of protection on the wrist closure and palm.

The wrist closure is velcro, which is easy. Personally I find they get full of fibers, and I'd like a snap or strap closure. These are fantastic gloves for aggressive street riding or the cruiser who wants a bit more impact protection. Dry weather riding only, but still a great glove for about $100.
