Shocks. Simple things, right? Not really, I'm afraid. To take the bounce out of a bumpy road you have to employ all kinds of displacement and energy conversion controls. Fortunately, you don't need to know any of it because engineers are our friends.
The engineers for Progressive Suspension have given us an elegant piece of work in their 412 series shocks. The 412 has a durable spring and a velocity sensitive, internal damping system with a high pressure, heat tolerant nitrogen charge and double steel walls. In other words, the 412 will adjust to road conditions and keep your ride smooth for a good long while.
Aesthetics were not lost in the design process. The 412 can be purchased in chrome or black, with full covers or exposed springs. Optional standard or heavy-duty springs with a five position adjuster give you the freedom to load up your bike (or load up yourself) without compromising your rear suspension quality.
Progressive Suspension's 412 series is designed for cruisers and ranges in length from 11 inches to 14.2 inches. The 12.5 inch shocks will fit, for example, a 96-07 1500 Kawasaki Vulcan, but the 412 series is designed to accommodate anything from a Harley to a Honda.
